Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Friday urged the government to make a statement in Parliament on the unrest reported at several prisons across Sri Lanka.
“It is important that this House is updated through a special statement by the minister in charge of prisons. One death was reported at Magazine Prison last night, two deaths were reported at Kuruwita Prison this morning, and unrest has now also been reported at Pallansena Prison,” he said. (Newswire)
