Three people, including two women aged between 35 and 40, have died after a van toppled down a precipice in the Karambaketiya area in Meemure, police said.
The accident occurred earlier today, with initial investigations suggesting the vehicle had veered off the road while navigating a bend in the mountainous terrain.
Three other individuals who sustained injuries in the crash have been admitted to the Theldeniya Hospital for treatment.
Police are conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the accident. (Newswire)
