Australian Mainstream Media Highlights Sri Lankan Culture – Lankan Fest 2025 Marks a Historic Milestone

Sri Lankan culture is gaining remarkable visibility across Australia, with increasing interest from major mainstream media channels. This year, 7 News Australia, one of the nation’s largest and most influential broadcasters, has featured a Sri Lankan cultural celebration marking a breakthrough moment for our community.

Across Australia, dozens of Sri Lankan cultural events take place annually, showcasing food, dance, music, talent, and heritage. Yet only a handful ever reach national media attention.

At the forefront of this growing recognition is Lankan Fest, one of Melbourne’s most vibrant and well-attended Sri Lankan cultural festivals. Since its inception, the festival has brought together thousands of people Sri Lankans and Australians alike celebrating unity, diversity, and cultural pride.

Lankan Fest is the only Sri Lankan event in Australia to be featured by 7 News Australia, setting it apart from all other Sri Lankan celebrations held nationwide. This recognition reflects the festival’s extraordinary growth, community impact, and cultural significance.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Lankan Fest 2025 will take place on:
