
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya met with a delegation from the European External Action Service (EEAS) on Feb. 10 at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Welcoming the delegation, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of further strengthening the long-standing partnership between Sri Lanka and the European Union, noting the EU’s role as a key development and economic partner.
She expressed appreciation for the European Union’s timely assistance to Sri Lanka following the recent cyclone, highlighting the EU’s continued support during times of need.
Discussions focused on expanding economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and the European Union. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of legislative and policy reforms to enhance economic engagement, trade and investment.
The delegation was briefed on the government’s ongoing initiatives and reforms aimed at strengthening economic stability, governance and creating an enabling environment for sustainable growth and international cooperation.
