Sri Lankan police have arrested a man accused of assaulting his 5-year-old daughter and recording the abuse on video before sending it to his wife, who is currently overseas, police said.
The suspect was arrested by the Madampitiya Police on Feb. 8. Police said the man is a resident of a high-rise apartment complex in Colombo 15.
During the arrest, a woman who was present at the apartment allegedly resisted police officers and attempted to obstruct the arrest. She was also taken into custody on charges of assaulting police officers, police said.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Madampitiya Police. (Newswire)
