CEB Proposes 13.56% Electricity Tariff Hike for Q2 2026

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has proposed a 13.56% increase in electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026, citing an estimated revenue deficit of Rs. 15.8 billion from April to June.

In a submission dated February 13 to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the CEB said the total projected cost for the April–June period stands at Rs. 136.5 billion, while estimated revenue at existing tariffs amounts to Rs. 116.9 billion.
