‘One Battle,’ ‘Hamnet,’ ‘Adolescence’ dominate 2026 Golden Globes

The 2026 Golden Globe Awards returned with a revamped structure and familiar star power, launching the awards season from the Beverly Hilton. Hosted by Nikki Glaser, the ceremony marked its second year under new leadership following the dissolution of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

A new podcast category debuted, with Amy Poehler winning for Good Hang. In film, Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another led with four wins, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Hamnet won Best Motion Picture – Drama, with acting awards for Jessie Buckley and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).

In television, Netflix’s Adolescence claimed four awards. The Pitt (HBO) won Best Drama Series, The Studio (Apple TV+) took Best Comedy, and Seth Rogen won Best Actor in a Comedy. KPop Demon Hunters won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.

Streaming platforms meanwhile dominated as the revamped Globes attempts  to reflect an evolving industry. (Newswire)
