Suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has been informed to be present before the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry appointed to probe his conduct, on 19 May 2025.
According to a Parliament statement, Tennakoon has been summoned before the Committee of Inquiry appointed to probe and report its findings in respect of acts of gross abuse of power by Tennakoon.
This Committee has met in the Parliament premises on several occasions as of now, but it is for the first time that suspended IGP Tennakoon has been summoned before the Parliamentary Committee. (Newswire)
