The International Cricket Council and JioStar on Friday dismissed media reports suggesting the ICC’s media rights agreement in India was under threat, saying the deal remains fully in force.
In a joint statement, the ICC said JioStar continues as its official media rights partner in India and has not withdrawn from the agreement. The statement said reports claiming otherwise do not reflect the position of either organisation.
JioStar said it remains fully committed to honouring its contractual obligations, while both parties said preparations for upcoming ICC events are progressing as planned.
The ICC and JioStar said there will be no impact on viewers, advertisers or industry partners, including coverage of major tournaments such as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Both organisations said they continue to work closely as long-term commercial partners, maintaining regular communication on operational, commercial and strategic matters aimed at growing the sport. (Newswire)
