Opposition MP Chamindranee Kiriella has alleged that a Deputy Minister had verbally harassed a female journalist in Parliament last week.
Addressing the Parliament, MP Chamindranee Kiriella said she was present when the incident took place.
“I was by the side of the journalist when this incident took place. At the time, she faced serious harassment. She was emotionally affected due to this incident. I express my regret over the matter. I draw the attention of the Prime Minister to this matter, as she constantly addresses these issues,” MP Chamindranee Kiriella.
She added that it was essential to draw the attention of the Prime Minister for the sake of both the government and opposition female MPs. (Newswire)
