The Ceylon Electricity Board has submitted a proposal to the PUCSL for an electricity tariff revision for the year 2026, noting that an 11.57% tariff increase is required in the 1st quarter of the year.
According to documents issued by the PUCSL, the proposal covers electricity charges for the period from January to March 2026 and includes revisions to energy charges and fixed monthly charges across domestic, religious, industrial, commercial and other consumer categories.
Under the proposal, domestic electricity consumers would see increases in both unit rates and fixed charges across all consumption blocks. (Newswire)
