Sri Lanka has ranked 93rd out of 101 ranking positions in the Henley Passport Index for 2026.

Singapore retained the top position for the third consecutive year, with Singaporean passport holders enjoying access to 192 countries without obtaining a prior visa.

Japan and South Korea ranked second, while Denmark and Luxembourg shared third place, with access to 188 and 186 countries respectively.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan ranked last, at 101st position, with access to only 24 countries. The country has consistently been at the bottom of the Henley Passport Index.

Last year, Sri Lanka ranked 96th, with access to 44 countries, compared to 39 this year, according to the Henley Passport Index. Only 11 countries rank below Sri Lanka in the index.

The Sri Lankan passport still ranks above fellow SAARC nations Nepal, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
