Retired community health specialist Dr. Harsha Suranga Fernando was sworn in as the new Governor of the Central Province before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat on Wednesday.
Dr. Fernando has served as an immunization specialist with the World Health Organization in several countries and has also worked as the Community Physician for the Kandy District.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Secretariat, according to the President’s Media Division. (Newswire)
