The chemical stock recently unearthed in a land at Middeniya has been confirmed as material used in the production of methamphetamine (ICE).
According to the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB), the finding was detailed in a report submitted to the Western Province North Crimes Division last Friday.
The Board said that chemical stocks discovered in the Netolpitiya and Kandana areas are also under examination, with reports expected to be handed over next week.
The stash in Middeniya was uncovered on September 5 during the interrogation of organized criminal “Backhoe Saman,” who is currently in custody. Further investigations later led to the discovery of similar stocks in Netolpitiya and Kandana. (NewsWire)
