Shammi Silva is expected to resign as President of Sri Lanka Cricket on Wednesday, bringing an end to his seven-year stint in the top post, according to a report by Lankadeepa newspaper.
The report said Silva is set to step down following a request from the government side.
It further claimed that former MP and State Minister Eran Wickramaratne is expected to be appointed as the new Interim President of Sri Lanka Cricket.
Silva was first elected as President of Sri Lanka Cricket in February 2019 has continued in the role since then winning multiple elections. (Newswire)
