US President Donald Trump has issued a dramatic warning about developments in Iran, claiming that a major turning point could occur “tonight” in what he described as one of the most important moments in world history.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said a “whole civilization” could be at risk, while suggesting that a regime change in Iran may be underway.
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump said.
He added that a “complete and total regime change” could lead to “different, smarter, and less radicalized minds” prevailing in Iran, potentially allowing for what he described as “something revolutionarily wonderful.”
Trump further stated that the situation could bring an end to what he called “47 years of extortion, corruption, and death,” referring to Iran’s leadership since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
