“There is absolutely no truth to this news circulating on social media. Today, I lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the publication of this false post,” Gunasekara said in a social media post.
The post in question alleged that the Deputy Minister had suggested restricting the Dalada Perahera from parading through the streets to appease the Muslim community.
Gunasekara said he would shortly release a video revealing what he had actually said at the relevant media briefing. (Newswire)
