The United National Party (UNP) will celebrate its 80th anniversary on Sunday, September 6, with a commemorative event at the party’s headquarters, Sirikotha, in Pitakotte.
The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 09.00 am, will be held under the patronage of Executive President and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The United National Party was founded by D. S. Senanayake in 1946, and has been one of Sri Lanka’s major political parties for several decades. (Newswire)
