GovPay payment platform launched in Jaffna

The GovPay Digital State Payment Platform was officially launched at the Jaffna District Secretariat today, in line with the vision of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to bring digital services closer to the people of the Northern Province. 

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports & Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake, with the participation of the Jaffna District Secretary and all Divisional Secretaries of the district.

According to the Ministry of Transport, this launch marks a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards a digitally empowered public service. 

GovPay is designed to provide citizens with easy access to transparent, secure, and efficient government services, reducing inefficiencies while enhancing public trust in state institutions.

As a government, our ultimate objective is to ensure that all Sri Lankans across the nation can benefit from safe, accessible, and reliable digital services, paving the way for an inclusive and connected digital future for the country, the ministry added. (Newswire)
