According to the Education Ministry, the second stage of the first school term of 2026 in government schools and government‑approved private schools ended today, 13 February 2026.
The Education Ministry has announced that the third stage of the first school term in Sinhala and Tamil schools will commence on Tuesday, 03rd March 2026.
