Rupee inches up as US dollar rates dip

The Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated slightly against the US Dollar across most major commercial banks today (Feb 20) compared to Thursday.

According to Seylan Bank, the buying rate of the US dollar has decreased from Rs. 306.65 to Rs. 306.60 while the selling rate increased from Rs. 311.40 to Rs. 311.35.

At NDB Bank, the buying and selling rate of the US dollar remained unchanged at Rs. 306.1 and 312.6.

People’s Bank reports the buying rate dropping from Rs. 305.84 to Rs. 305.79 while the selling rate also dropped from Rs. 312.58 to Rs. 312.53.

Meanwhile at Commercial Bank, the buying and selling rates of the US dollar remained unchanged at Rs. 304.11 and Rs. 312.50 respectively.

At Sampath Bank too, the buying and selling rates of the US dollar remained unchanged at Rs. 306.1 and Rs. 312.6 respectively. (Newswire)
