A 29-year-old man was reported dead after being assaulted on Walana Road in Panadura South last night.
According to the Police, the victim had been admitted to the Panadura Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations reveal that an individual had assaulted the victim with a sharp object due to an argument over a money dispute escalating.
The 54-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder.
