President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with U.S. Ambassador Julie Chung at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday, ahead of her scheduled departure from Sri Lanka on January 16, marking the end of her diplomatic tenure.
During the meeting, President Dissanayake expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Chung’s efforts to strengthen relations between the United States and Sri Lanka.
The President acknowledged her role in securing U.S. assistance for communities impacted by Cyclone Ditwah and highlighted her contributions to discussions with the International Monetary Fund.
Ambassador Chung has served as the United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka since February 2022. (Newswire)
