Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is set for a major shake-up in its selection structure, with Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage expected to appoint a new national selection committee, replacing the panel led by former Sri Lanka fast bowler Pramodya Wickramasinghe.

Sources familiar with the development said members of the outgoing committee had been informed that they had been removed from their positions. A former selection committee member confirmed the development to NewsWire.

It is reported that a new selection panel headed by former Sri Lanka cricketer Kapila Wijegunawardena is likely to be appointed soon by the Sports Minister. Kapila had previously served in Sri Lanka’s cricket selection setup and is expected to lead the new-look committee.

No official announcement has been made by the Sports Ministry or Sri Lanka Cricket regarding the reported changes. (Newswire)
