Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya met Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Major General (Retd) Nayyar Naseer, at Temple Trees.
During the meeting, the prime minister expressed gratitude for the continued support extended by Pakistan following the Cyclone Dithwah.
Both sides recalled the long-standing and friendly relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, built on mutual respect, friendship and shared interests.
Discussions also focused on strengthening cooperation in key sectors including education, tourism and sports, while reaffirming Sri Lanka’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and people-to-people connections.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner Suneira Latif, Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary Sagarika Bogahawatta and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism. (Newswire)
