SLC to launch ‘Merchandising Licensing Program’

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), proud holders of the 1996 and 2014 T20 World Cup titles, has announced it is planning to launch a Merchandising Licensing Program aimed at expanding its global brand presence through officially licensed products. 

According to an SLC statement, to initiate this program, the SLC is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified and experienced Sports Brand Licensing Agencies with a proven international track record in brand licensing and merchandising. 

The selected partner(s), appointed through a transparent and competitive tender process, will serve as the official agent(s) for managing the SLC Merchandising Licensing Program from 2026 to 2032. 

The selected Licensing Agent/s will be responsible for identifying and onboarding reputed and recognized vendors to design, develop, distribute, and sell a wide range of officially licensed SLC branded or co-branded products, covering Apparel, Accessories, Collectables and other relevant products and services. 

The Primary Responsibilities of the Licensing Agent or agents are to advise SLC on the Licensing Business Model, identify and evaluate potential vendors, Lead vendor negotiations, monitor and manage vendor relationships and performance, ensure timely and accurate Royalty Reporting, Revenue Collection and also oversee other related aspects of the licensing program, etc.

Interested applicants may express interest in one or more of the following capacities, such as Global Market Agent, Territory-Based Agent or Category-Based Agent, such as apparel, accessories and collectables. 

EOIs, which are now published on www.srilankacricket.lk, invites EOIs only from organizations that demonstrate proven expertise in sports brand licensing and merchandising, operational capability to manage multi-category, multi-territory programs, and strong networks, infrastructure and vendor relations in relevant markets and financial capability.
