Lanka Sathosa Limited has decided to reduce the prices of six essential consumer goods across its island-wide outlet network with effect from tomorrow (26).
According to a media release by Lanka Sathosa Marketing Manager Ishan Godamanne, the state-owned supermarket chain implemented the price reductions to provide relief to consumers as part of its national mission to support poverty alleviation.
Under the revised pricing, big onions have been reduced by Rs. 10.00 to a new price of Rs. 309.00 per kilogram, while bulk white sugar drops by Rs. 4.00 to Rs. 245.00 per kilogram.
Red lentils have been reduced by Rs. 2.00 to Rs. 242.00 per kilogram, wheat flour by Rs. 5.00 to Rs. 174.00 per kilogram, red raw rice by Re. 1.00 to Rs. 173.00 per kilogram, and white raw rice by Rs. 5.00 to Rs. 174.00 per kilogram.
The general public can purchase these items at the newly reduced rates across all Lanka Sathosa branches nationwide starting tomorrow. (Newswire)
