More flights are scheduled to repatriate Sri Lankans stranded abroad due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this week.

Sri Lankan Airlines will bring down 194 students from UK tomorrow (06). Flight scheduled to arrive at 03.05 am.

A group of Sri Lankans stranded in Europe, Canada and the US have also been included in the flight returning from the UK tomorrow, Additional Secretary to the President for Foreign Relations Admiral Jayanath Colombage told NewsFirst earlier today.

These students have been informed that they can board the special repatriation flight from London to Colombo if they can make it to the UK.

Admiral Jayanath Colombage said that Goverment is currently focusing on brining down students from South East Asia, UK, and Australia,

Flight are likely to be scheduled from Singapore and Malaysia this week, he said.

After this Government would focus on the Philippines, Japan, Russia, and the Russian region as there are a large number of Sri Lankan students in the region especially in Lithuania, Latvia, and Belarus, Admiral Jayanath Colombage added.
