Sri Lanka Greats XI squad for May 4th charity match

Former Sri Lanka cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya will captain the Sri Lanka Greats XI team that will participate in a charity cricket match organized to be played in Kandy.

Sri Lanka Cricket announced that the Sri Lanka Great XI will take on Team Sri Lanka in the match that will be played on the 4th of May at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

The Sri Lanka Great XI team headed by Jayasuriya have already commenced practicing for the upcoming game.

The team consists of several players from the 1996 cricket World Cup team, including Aravinda De Silva.

However, team sources said Silva’s participation in the match is yet to be finalized.

The players will be subjected to PCR tests and will leave for Kandy on 3rd May.

The T20 game will commence at 07.00 pm at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on 4th May and will be shown live, both in Sri Lanka and overseas.

Sanath Jayasuriya (Captain), Aravinda De Silva, Saman Jayantha, Nuwan Kulasekara, Dhammika Prasad, Thilan Thushara Mirando, Ajantha Mendis, Upul Tharanga, Upul Chandana, Chamara Kapugedera, Malintha Warnapura, Chamara Silva, Jehan Mubarak, Farveez Maharoof and Indika De Seram.
