A Development Officer attached to the Agrarian Department Office in Wariyapola has been arrested for stealing 50 fertilizer bags.
The Police said the officer had illegally taken fertilizer bags which were to be provided to farmers for a concessionary rate of Rs. 1500.
The Police had arrested the suspect for illegally storing the fertilizer bags in his private store in the Wariyapola area yesterday.
The suspect will be produced before the Wariyapola Magistrate’s Court today, while the Wariyapola Police are conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
