Two suspects have been arrested with Rs.13.5 million suspected to have been earned through illegal means.
The Police said the suspects were arrested after their vehicle was inspected by the Police Special Task Force on Oruwatta Road in Athurugiriya yesterday.
Interrogations have revealed that the suspects are residents of Kolonnawa and Wellampitiya.
The Athurugiriya Police is conducting investigations to ascertain how the suspects obtained the money, and if it is through illegal means or if it was being transported to commit a crime.
The Police said the suspects have been detained at the Athurugiriya Police station for further investigations. (NewsWire)
