The Government has amended the health guidelines issued on travellers arriving in Sri Lanka during the coronavirus pandemic.

As per the revised guidelines, fully vaccinated travellers who are released from quarantine with an on-arrival (day-01) negative PCR test will not be required to undergo a PCR test on day-07 since their arrival.

Unvaccinated children, between the ages of 02-18, who are also released with the fully vaccinated parents must undergo a PCR test on day-07.

However, this does not apply to travellers from travel restricted countries.

Furthermore, Vietnam, which was included in the list of travel restricted countries due to the Delta variant of the coronavirus, has been removed from the list.

The travel ban imposed on travellers with a travel history in the past 14-days to India, and several South African and South American countries remains unchanged until further notice. (NewsWire)
