Catholic Churches around the country joined in on the “Silent Black Protest Day” today (21) by hoisting black flags and conducting prayers in remembrance of those who lost lives in the Easter Attacks in 2019.

The National Catholic Proclamation Committee declared today as a day of protest and requested Churches and catholic households around the country to hoist a black flag as a mark of protest against the government’s failure to bring the perpetrators and masterminds of the Easter Attacks to justice.

Last month, the Catholic Church handed over a letter to the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, stating that the actions taken so far against those who are responsible for the Easter Attacks are not satisfactory.
