A mother from Batticaloa broke down in front of Minister Namal Rajapaksa, urging the latter to help release her son who is currently imprisoned.
During a visit to Batticaloa yesterday, MP Namal Rajapaksa was greeted by the woman, after which she handed over a petition to him asking him to release her son.
She told the Minister that her son has been imprisoned on charges under PTA and is yet to be released.
Speaking to reporters after the encounter, Minister Rajapaksa said a process is currently underway to release such prisoners and the Government was working on the matter. (NewsWire)
