Billionaire businessman Adani in Sri Lanka

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group that was selected to develop the West Container Terminal (WCT) of the Colombo Port has arrived in Sri Lanka. 

According to Indian media, Gautam Adani is scheduled to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo today.

It was also reported that Adani is interested in projects related to ports, power, and renewable energy in Sri Lanka and he is expected to discuss possible projects in these sectors when he meets President Rajapaksa.

“It is a private visit and Adani is expected to meet the President to discuss the West Container Terminal project,” sources from Colombo have told Indian media. 

Less than a month ago, the Adani Group signed a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement with its Sri Lankan partner in the project John Keells Holdings, and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), to jointly develop the WCT at the Colombo Port. (NewsWire)
