Govt. awards long-term petrol & diesel contracts to Singapore company

The Government has approved a proposal to award a long-term contract to import petrol and diesel from Singapore for a period of 08 months next year. 

Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the importation of petrol and diesel for 08 months starting from 01st January 2022 to 31st August 2022.

The proposal was put forward by Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila to award the relevant contract to M/s Vitol Asia (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.

The company has been recommended by the Special Standard Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.

As per the contract, bids are being called from the registered suppliers of Lanka Petroleum Cooperation for the long-term contract to import 1,341,000+10/-5% barrels of Petrol (92 Unl) and 459,000+10/-5% barrels of Petrol (95 Unl). 

Bids are also being called from the registered suppliers of Lanka Petroleum Cooperation for the long-term contract to import 1,137,500+10/-5% barrels of Diesel (Maximum sulfur percentage 0.05) and 262,500+10/-5% barrels of Diesel (Maximum Sulfur percentage 0.001). (NewsWire)
