Five SL cricketers to play Legends Cricket League in Oman

Former Sri Lanka cricket legends Sanath Jayasuriya, T.M. Dilshan, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, and Upul Tharanga are likely to participate in the Legends Cricket League (LLC), NewsWire learns.

The inaugural Legends Cricket League (LLC), a professional cricket league for former star cricketers, is set to be hosted by Oman in January 2022

According to sources, the former Sri Lankan cricketers have been approached by the organizers of the tournament.

Former cricketing legends from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, England will feature in the first season of the Legends Cricket League.

The players from these countries will be divided into 3 teams representing India, Asia, and the Rest of the World.

The sources said the former Sri Lankan cricketers will reportedly be part of a combined team with Pakistan, instead of a full Sri Lanka-only team.

The tournament has been scheduled to take place in January next year at Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman. (NewsWire)
