A 14-year-old schoolgirl has died after being assaulted by her father and uncle who had gotten perturbed over her alleged love affair.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Gampola.
The teenager had initially been assaulted by her uncle over the alleged affair and while suffering from pain had been assaulted once again by her father last morning, The Police said.
The mother of the child had moved to another house along with her daughter due to the continuous assault of the two men.
The teenager had thereafter fallen unconscious after which she had been admitted to the Gampola Hospital where she had passed away.
The Gampola Police has arrested the father and uncle of the deceased schoolgirl.
