Former Sri Lanka cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya will miss the first half of the Legends League which will commence in Oman today.

Jayasuriya was set to represent the Asian Lions in the T20 tournament.

However, as he had contracted COVID-19 earlier this month, the Sri Lanka batting legend is most likely to be fit to play only in the latter part of the tournament due to medical reasons.

Jayasuriya is among eight other former Sri Lanka cricketers who are set to represent the Asian Lions.

The opening game of the T20 competition will be held between the India Maharajas and Asian Lions today. (NewsWire)
