Another virus is found to be spreading in Sri Lanka currently apart from the coronavirus, the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has warned.
GMOA member Dr. Prasad Colombage said a number of viruses are currently spreading in the country at present.
Stating that along with COVID-19, a similar virus is also spreading, he said, on the other hand, the dengue virus is also on the rise.
He said that the country is heading towards a serious situation due to the spread of the new virus.
Meanwhile, the GMOA is set to submit an interim report to the President, Health Ministry, and health authorities on the preventive measures to be taken to address the Omicron variant or any other future new variants of the coronavirus.
The report is to be compiled by a 12-member committee consisting of specialist doctors, public health inspectors, and other health experts from various fields. (NewsWire)
