The bodies of a schoolgirl and youth have been discovered in a cinnamon field in the Pihimbiya Kandha area in Karandeniya.
The deceased have been identified as a 20-year-old male and a 16-year-old schoolgirl.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Police had found the body of the woman hanging from a nearby tree and the body of the boy lying on the ground.
The bodies of the victims have been placed at the Elpitiya Hospital for the postmortem examination to be conducted.
The Karandeniya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
