Electricity situation : Today’s update

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has not made any request for power shedding today, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced.

The Commission’s Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said that according to CEB data electricity demand can be met today with the available capacity.

The PUCSL has also announced that legal action will be taken if the CEB disrupts the power supply without obtaining prior permission.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the CEB Engineers’ Union Dhammika Wimalaratne said the Kelanitissa power plant has been out of diesel since Wednesday (02).

Dhammika Wimalaratne further said that Naptha is available for Combined Cycle for 2 days only. (NewsWire)
