Fuel bowsers with petrol and diesel have already been dispatched to distribute the necessary stocks of fuel to fuel stations in Colombo, Minister of Energy Gamini Lokuge announced today.
Speaking to local media, the Minister said a delay in the distribution has resulted in long queues continuing in several areas.
Stating that all bowsers had suspended operations the day before, he said the bowsers have recommenced operations from today.
Minister Lokuge said thereby the distribution of fuel to the fuel stations in Colombo will be completed by this afternoon.
The Minister further said that a directive has been issued to provide a load of diesel and petrol each to every fuel station in Colombo.
Minister Lokuge said that arrangements have also been made to release a ship with diesel that is docked at the Colombo Port tomorrow. (NewsWire)
