The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has announced an increase in International Direct Dialling (IDD) charges.

The TRCSL said that the price hike has been announced according to the Dollar fluctuation.

The Sri Lanka Rupee drastically depreciated against the US Dollar and stood at a rate of Rs. 274.99 as of Friday, the 18th of March.

The shortage of the Dollar and the decision by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to float the Rupee have resulted in the price hike of several essential items.

So far, the prices of gas, fuel, milk powder, wheat flour, as well as water bottles, and face masks have all been increased. (NewsWire)
