The son of notorious criminal ‘Soththi Upali’ has been arrested in connection to the recent robbery of a fuel station in Nawala.
The Police Special Task Force (STF) had arrested two men over the robbery based on a tip-off.
One suspect has been identified as the son of notorious criminal ‘Soththi Upali’ who had died several years ago.
The Police said the suspects arrested over the robbery are aged 27 and 29 and are residents of Colombo 8.
Five men who had arrived in a three-wheeler had assaulted and intimidated the employees at the fuel station.
They had thereafter stolen money from the premises and fled the area.
The incident had taken place on Friday night (18) at a fuel station situated in Nawala. (NewsWire)
