Minister of Energy Gamini Lokuge has once again assured the public that the fuel shortage in Sri Lanka will be resolved by the end of the April New Year festival.

Addressing an event, he said that along with the end of the shortage, the Government will once again commence ordering crude oil.

Stating that currently, the Ministry is in possession of 215,000 MT of crude oil in storage facilities, he said this is sufficient for the oil refineries to operate.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy has revealed that two more shipments of diesel are set to arrive in the country this week.

However, despite the assurances by the Minister, several long queues for fuel are continuing to be seen at fuel stations across the country. (NewsWire)
