Senthil Thondaman appointed as CWC leader

Senthil Thondaman has been appointed as the leader of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC).

Thondaman earlier served as the Vice President of the Ceylon Workers Congress. 

The Working Committee of the Ceylon Workers Congress convened in Kottagala today during which Senthil Thondaman was appointed as the new leader of the party.

Senthil Thondaman replaces the late Arumugam Thondaman as the leader of the CWC.

The CWC has been without a leader since the demise of the late Arumugam Thondaman in May 2020. 

The 55-year-old who headed the CWC since 1999 passed away due to a sudden heart attack. (NewsWire)
