Two murders have been reported in the Battaramulla and Kelaniya areas yesterday (26).
An individual has been killed in the Battaramulla area after being attacked with a sharp object.
The Police said the attack had taken place after an argument between the man and a beggar had escalated.
The victim had engaged in an argument with the suspect after purchasing goods at a supermarket.
As the argument had escalated, the suspect had attacked the man with a sharp object and fled the area.
The victim has been identified as a 57-year-old resident of Malabe.
Meanwhile, a 63-year-old man and his son had been assaulted after a group had broken into their house in the Waragoda area in Kelaniya.
The senior citizen had died as a result of the attack, while the son has been hospitalized with injuries.
The Police said the suspects had assaulted the duo and had fled after stealing gold jewelry and land deeds from the victims.
The Police are conducting separate investigations into the two incidents. (NewsWire)
