The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has reported a technical breakdown in one of the 270MW power plants in Norochcholai.
Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said the CEB has commenced repair work to fix the breakdown.
He further said that the CEB has assured that the Norochcholai plant will be reconnected within 5 days.
Minister WIjesekera said the CEB has also assured that it will manage the current power cuts without further extensions.
The Minister added that the CEB has informed that the power cuts will be managed by using thermal and hydro plants. (NewsWire)
