President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed primary gas supplier Litro Gas Lanka to release gas for domestic use today and tomorrow.
“Following the President’s instructions steps will be taken to distribute 15,000 LP gas cylinders each day for today and tomorrow in Colombo and Gampaha,” The Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka said.
The President’s orders come after Litro Gas Lanka had announced earlier today that LP gas for domestic use is not available and gas will be released only for industrial purposes.
However, the Chairman of Litro Gas Lanka later revealed that on the orders of the President a ship carrying 3,500 Metric Tonnes of LP gas will dock in Colombo tomorrow.
The Chairman further said that arrangements are underway to distribute 15,000 cylinders of LP gas in Colombo and suburbs today and tomorrow.
“From Wednesday onwards 80,000 cylinders are to be distributed island-wide daily,” the Litro Gas Lanka Chairman added. (NewsWire)
